Our Soft Ceramics(MCM) has emerged as a transformative material in modern construction, blending the traditional advantages of natural clay with enhanced properties achieved through technological innovations.
The production of modified clay materials begins with the selection and preparation of natural clay minerals — typically bentonite, kaolin, montmorillonite or other layered silicate clays. These raw clays are mined and then undergo initial beneficiation to remove coarse impurities, weathered fragments, and excess moisture.
Once the raw clay is cleaned and dried, the key “modification” phase begins. This modification can be physical, chemical, or a combination of methods, depending on the targeted performance enhancements (such as improved adsorption, increased surface area, enhanced binding, or organo-compatibility). For example, physical routes may involve mechanical activation (ball milling, ultrasonic treatment) or heat‐treatment to change microstructure; chemical routes might involve acid / base activation, ion‐exchange, intercalation of organic cations or coatings with polymers.
